The Navitas DC to AC Conversion Kit for Club Car DS IQ golf cars and is designed for easy installation and increased performance over DC systems. This kit is intended to fit early Club Car DS and Precedent golf cars with the early version of the Graziano rear differential. In 2006, a revised unit was released with different length axles and axle tubes. The driver's side is 1.5" shorter and the passenger side is 1.5" longer.  This redesign shifts the gearcase towards the driver's side 1.5" and allows the use of a longer motor without lifting the vehicle.  Per Navitas documentation, the 5kw motor will not work in a non lifted DS due to length, so the 4kw motor is recommended for this application. However, with the redesigned axles and tubes in this kit, you'll be able to use the 5kw motor in any non-lifted DS without further modifications. For reference, the 5kw motor is 30mm longer than the 4kw motor. Swapping these axles will net you 1.5" of extra clearance (38mm), which is more than enough to suffice.

 

Photos are posted on this page of the new style axle vs the old style axle.  If you are unsure of which configuration you have, you can measure your axles as shown in the photos to make that determination. Measurements are as follows:

 

Old configuration driver's side = 10-1/4"
New configuration driver's side = 8-3/4"

Old configuration passenger's side=17"
New configuration passenger's side= 18.5"

 

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GRAZIANO DRIVE UNIT BEFORE ORDERING. THESE AXLES WILL NOT FIT ON THE EARLY VEHICLES WITH THE FUJI, TERRELL, OR KAWASAKI DRIVE UNIT.
